Jeremy Redmore reveals Chapter Four of his Five-Part Album release ‘The Brightest Flame’
Chapter four of The Brightest Flame is the faltering and fumbling search for a new beginning.
‘Sugar and Fire‘, inspired by a Cuban folk tale, was birthed on that island nation’s shores. Surrounded by both water and frowning political eyes; it is a vibrant, outlandish and peaceful country doomed by both history and progress. Its songs tell of women made of Sugar & Fire that are, yet, still lost to this same fate.
‘Walk Away‘ is a classically constructed folk song about how life’s external forces have the power to cut down a love story’s helpless blossom.
The Brightest Flame signposts a significant shift in Jeremy’s songwriting where creating ascended “ambition” and “work” and became a necessary healer. Four and a half years since leaving for Canada, Jeremy is back home in Aotearoa preparing for his most vulnerable release yet.
The 11 tracks are divided into five key dates, each accompanied by two to three tracks following a story of heartbreak, shock, isolation, bitterness, exploration and hope. The album will be released over the next few months, slowly unveiling this tragic yet beautiful story. The final instalment of the narrative will be shared on 20th March 2020.
