Today, Jeremy Redmore reveals Day One: the first of five chapters that make up his project The Brightest Flame. The album is a story that recounts a year of upheaval in Jeremy’s life and will be unveiled over the next few months, leading to its release date of 20th March 2020. See below for three new songs depicting the beginnings of disbelief, dizzying-shock and denial.

What happens when an award-winning songwriter and performer walks away from his craft completely? In the case of Jeremy Redmore, it’s a comeback album that encompasses an artistic transformation alongside a classic story of lost love.

Despite the success of his debut solo album Clouds Are Alive (2014) Jeremy decided to escape to the depths of Canada’s largest city, Toronto, pursuing adventure and travel, happily leaving a promising music career behind. Uncannily, this was where Redmore eventually relearnt the habit of creating, finding solace and healing through a familiar creative outlet.

The Brightest Flame signposts a significant shift in Jeremy’s songwriting where creating ascended “ambition” and “work” and became a necessary healer. Four and a half years since leaving, Jeremy is back home in Aotearoa preparing for his most vulnerable release yet.

The 11 tracks are divided into five key dates, each accompanied by two to three tracks following a story of heartbreak, shock, isolation, bitterness, exploration and hope. The album will be released over the next few months, slowly unveiling this tragic yet beautiful story. The final instalment of the narrative will be shared on 20th March 2020.
